Course Topics
- Read and discuss current papers in seismology, geodesy, and related geophysical fields.
- Specific papers are chosen by students and faculty together.
- Discussion topics are focused based on student questions.
Grading Scheme
Grading is pass/fail and is based on student participation.Weekly Expectations
Every week of the class, students are expected to:- Read the assigned paper
- Write up a short list of the major findings of the paper
- Write down a list of questions about the topic, methods, etc
- Participate in the class discussion
Students will rotate through the task of being the lead presenter for the paper. The lead presenter needs to make sure that a PDF of the paper is loaded on the computer in the room so that we can look at parts of the paper together, and will help set up the discussion by cataloguing discussion topics at the start of the hour.
