Instructor: Jeff Freymueller

x7286 Elvey 413B jfreymueller@alaska.edu

TA: Shanshan Li

Last Updated: October 10, 2017

ssh, input/output, overview for grep, awk, sed, tr, some examples to look at, run, understand.

Unix Tools II

More funky unix tool and shell games

Examples are in the slides. The sources for the last three scripts are available as tar.gz or zip archive. I added empty files in the ./data directory and changed the scripts given in the slides slightly according to that. You should be able to run the *.sh scripts and get some output that's close to what was on the slides.

Look at the examples given above, PLAY WITH THEM, and comment them ('#' is the comment sign for shell scripts). Send in the commented versions before the next lecture.
